Some 75 / 80 years ago , me and my siblings used to sing together ( when living at Bhavnagar - Gujarat / up to 1944 when we moved to Mumbai )
Mostly these were Gujarati songs written by poets like Prahlad Parekh - Pinakin Trivedi - Umashankar Joshi - Zaverchand Meghani ( my maternal uncle ) etc
We also use to sing songs sung by Pankaj Mullick - Hemant Kumar - Kanan Devi - Jyuthica Ray etc
My sister Jyoti had penned these songs in a diary - in her own handwriting
A few days ago ( June 2022 ), she sent me this diary
From that compilation, I am reproducing below, some of my favourite Gujarati songs ( Poet names are mentioned only in some cases )
Hopefully , someday soon , I will try to sing ( recite in my own voice ), a few lines where I remember the tune - and may be upload Audio-Video-Text , together

સોહાગ જો જીવન માં હશે તો
ઉરે ઉરે એ પમરી સુવાશષે ,
સ્વપ્નો હશે નિંદર માં નિહાળ્યા
સિદ્ધિ રૂપે જાગૃતિ માં જણાશે ,
મનોરથો ચિંતન માં હશે તો
પ્રવૃત્તિ ના કાર્ય રૂપે જ જન્મશે
